This past August I spent a lot of time hiking with my brother, Michael along the pristine Tsawout First Nation Reserve Trail, marvelling at the grandeur and beauty of the trees — Arbutus, Garry Oak, and this Douglas Fir which towered above us, and which held the tiny Red Squirrel on guard you see in my photo. This sweet squirrel stayed on a small branch a few meters up "his" tree watching me while I stayed crouched down below, taking photos with my telephoto lens. So, it looks like he's holding some kind of staff, fit for a wise Warrior.
