Every fall, I wait for the return of the small flocks of these diminutive ducks at the beach by my Mum's house in Surrey, BC. These gorgeous seaducks breed in fast moving streams in BC's interior and spend their winter on rocky coastlines. Before I bought a camera, I remember taking my binoculars down to the shore and being shocked at the colours and personality of these small squeaking ducks. This is especially why I was so thrilled to get this shot.
