Green Monster

We were out chasing some storms on July 13th this year as it was forecasted to be quite an active day. We were most certainly not disappointed, after hitting a nice photogenic compact cell near Crossfield, we checked the radar and saw this storm blowing up over Calgary. We raced south in order to capture it. Normally we'd like to be on the SE edge of supercells like this to avoid getting wrecked by hail, we were completely on the wrong side of the storm! We raced as far east to keep ahead of it with myself filming out of the passenger window and my friend Matt at the wheel. We managed to stop for a few shot seconds to capture this shot before fleeing again, unfortunately this storm steamrolled us and we sustained hail damage to all vehicles in our convoy. Totally worth it though!
