Snowy Flight

A bird of mountainous regions across western North America, the Steller’s Jay is the provincial bird of my home province of British Columbia. I spend countless hours each winter hiking in the coast mountains of Southwestern British Columbia (north of Vancouver), searching for this bird in the stunning snowy landscape. An inquisitive species, some individuals have learned to seek out hikers who may have handouts to offer. I used a wide angle lens to capture this jay in it's environment, as it flew from tree to tree around me in the snow.
